Welcome Back 2022
September 2022
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the beginning of 2nd grade! There will be many exciting things to learn and discover in the 2nd grade and I have high expectations of all my students. My classroom policy is very simple: workhard, do your best and you will succeed. I have faith that all my students will work very hard this year and have fun doing it.
Each child will receive 3 notebooks from St. Lucy’s. These books will be used throughout the year. Your child will also need 3 or more sharpened pencils each day, 2 folders, 1 coloring book and 1 box of 16 or 24 crayons; these can be purchased elsewhere. The crayons must stay in school, as they are used everyday in class.
-Your child’s name should be on all of his or her belongings, especially the outside of
their lunchbox and in the sweater/sweatshirts.
-Parents are to check their child’s take home (TH) folders and planners each night.
-Parents must sign all homework and test papers. Signed test papers are to be returned the next day.
-All workbooks and textbooks must be covered with clear contact paper by Friday,
September 23rd. (I will be sending a few books home each night. Please do not do any work in the books unless it has been assigned!)
-All money from home must be brought to school in an envelope labeled with your
child’s name, class and contents.
-Please remember, it is very important for your child to do his or her homework
every night! There is a homework grade given in each subject.
If at any time you have a comment, concern or a question, feel free to contact me by email at [email protected] or simply send a note in with your child.
Thanking you in advance for your cooperation!
Mrs. Maruri-Cox
